Voting Tory – to coin Theresa May’s comment on Brexit – means voting Tory... and everything that Toryism in Britain stands for. They are kidding themselves on.
The Conservative Party does not have “a racism problem.” The Conservative Party is a racist party. Racism is so much more than the spoken or written word; racism is a whole set of attitudes and assumptions about one’s own superiority and the superiority of one’s own group over and above an inferior and dangerous racialised other.
Davidson and the Scottish Tories have shown they are prepared to wage trench warfare in the Scottish parliament no matter how many people they hurt by their irrational policy of opposition at all costs.
No matter how brutal the London austerity programme in Scotland, how much of our resources are plundered, or how much of our wealth is confiscated the tory will always put the Crown and the Union over all other concerns.
Even her flatulent outbursts about federalism are a betrayal of the sacred principles she inherited when she took the helm of the sinking ship HMS Scottish Labour. She knows as well as anyone that her party is dead already.
What Murdo is trying desperately hard to ignore is that the SNP do have a plan, the same plan that it has had since its inception in 1934; full independence for Scotland – leaving the London government to sleep in its own bed.
The real problem is that Nicola Sturgeon’s government have blocked the Tories from making more money at the cost of Scotland’s health and environment. Fossil fuels have never really benefited Scotland.
As the SNP wins a historic third term in government a discernible shift in support from a dying Labour Party to the Scottish Conservatives has been felt. Is this a return in Scotland to Tory ideals, or is there another, more fundamental battle beginning in Scotland? We think this is more like the last gasp of unionism.
