Those in the independence movement currently quaking at the thought of assisting the Russians – like Russia needs or help – should remember the help Russia Today gave us during the 2012-14 independence campaign. While the BBC, every UK television and radio media station bar none, and every national newspaper waged a relentless war of threats, disinformation, and lies against us, Russia Today, naturally with its own agenda, gave us a voice and a fair hearing. Are our memories that short?
Scottish Independent Media
If we fail to address that printed media imbalance we may well lose out again in the next referendum. The best time to start preparing for this is last year, but seeing as that has come and gone, the next best time is right now. Every day iScot is struggling to stay in business. It needs an awful lot more people to subscribe either online or to its print edition and have it sent to their door. Of course, there’s no point spending money on any old crap. It and whatever else we produce has to be quality.
Letting Scotland Down
It hasn’t been an easy week for independentista bloggers in Scotland, and it most certainly hasn’t been easy for our readers. I have been as much a part of that difficulty as anyone else and for that I am deeply sorry.
Common Space – What Hast Thou Done?
If Common Space wants to go gunning for Wings – especially on the back of such a flimsy and obviously politically motivated accusation – then its producers have to know they are instigating a serious and probably catastrophic split in the entire movement.
Is This Sexist?
iScot reproduced for its soon-to-be traumatised readership Rubens’ 1635 ‘the Three Graces,’ complete with the photoshopped heads of our Tory troika - all wearing unionist micro bikinis.
We Are Under Attack
Regardless of what anyone thinks of Campbell in the movement – good or bad – thank goodness we have him. Wings was caught in the snare, and now it’s out again – thanks to the general uproar in Scotland.
