You might remember the post from 18 December when I got in touch with the Royal Mail about a postcard that was a little late in coming. Claire posted it in early December, when it finally arrived it bore a postmark dated 8 December, and it only arrived yesterday. It was nice to get a postcard, but there was also much fun to be had in chasing the mailman.

There was always the possibility that it had reached Dublin and was buried under the Christmas cards in the GPO’s sorting office. So I thought I’d be extra cheeky and ask their museum if they had seen it.


Of course An Post never bothered to reply. No festive spirit here in Ireland at all. The Royal Mail is much more fun – not to mention friendly and polite.

Then I had to take a break to travel over to Scotland. In all honesty I was beginning to give up all hope of ever seeing this postcard.
